One Fertility Plan for All?

Does one fertility plan fit everyone? We take an individualized approach

One Fertility Plan for All?Just as no two fingerprints are exactly alike, Dan Gehlbach, M.D., understands that every patient is different. As the medical director at Midwest Reproductive Center, our Kansas fertility center expert rejects the idea that one fertility plan works for all patients. Dr. Gehlbach will perform a thorough fertility evaluation and analyze your situation to create a personalized fertility plan to help you build your family.

Understanding our methodology for creating a custom fertility plan

Our Kansas fertility center offers leading-edge therapies to treat infertility, including the use of fertility medications, intrauterine insemination (IUI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Before selecting a fertility plan, Dr. Gehlbach will order a complete fertility workup to pinpoint potential roadblocks to conception. This evaluation will involve gathering a medical history, ordering blood tests and performing a sonogram. Additionally, Dr. Gehlbach will want your partner to have a semen analysis to rule out male factor infertility.

Reviewing the factors we use to generate your fertility plan

Because every situation is unique, Dr. Gehlbach will consider several factors to develop the best fertility plan for you.

  • Maternal age: As women get older, their fertility decreases.
  • Anatomical anomalies: Physical impediments such as uterine polyps or fibroids may require surgery.
  • Hormone imbalances: Conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can interfere with ovulation and create issues for women trying to conceive.
  • Male factor infertility: When semen analysis reveals abnormal results for your partner, Dr. Gehlbach will likely make a referral to a urologist, a physician who specializes in the male reproductive system.
  • Previous fertility treatments: If you have had any failed fertility cycles, this information can help Dr. Gehlbach determine the best options for moving forward.

When you are struggling to conceive, fertility treatment may provide a viable option for achieving success. Dr. Gehlbach doesn’t believe in a one-size-fits-all fertility plan.
